It is only one week until we will be in DC getting ready to complete an Olympic triathlon!
I have not been great about posting about the tri this summer. It would have sounded a bit like this every week. . .
"I love getting to know my team! Such great women! I am tired. I like cycling. I stink at swimming. Finding childcare is a whip. Did I mention I love my team?"
Oh. . . and I would apologize to my neighborhood for consistently running in those compression shorts. I don't know why they are called compression shorts--they don't seem to compress anything. Or as my sweet child told me, "Mommy, your booty jiggles when you walk."
True, baby. So true.
It's all about the team for me. We have raised over $150,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! We have laughed a ton! We have even cried together. And we have consistently seen each other in some of the most unflattering clothing and positions you have ever seen. Wetsuits, racing swimsuits, tri shorts, lake hair, google marks, etc.
We are all excited to finally get to DC. We have worked hard. Our husbands/wives have sacrificed a lot to help make this happen. People have been incredibly generous. But we are all a little tired as well. It is good timing--the race is very soon.
The best news is that Gage is nearing the end of his treatment as well. He got his port removed! His last treatment will be just days after our race. I will think of him and his family often during the (long) race!
I will try to keep posting about the tri.
